Photographs that Represent Diversity and Authenticity
Here at Freepik, we want our users to have as wide a selection of photos as possible. We are well aware they depend on us for a range of private and commercial projects. Seeing how we can add to our resources is a continuous aim of ours. We have deciphered two areas of popular demand. One area is photographs that have a range of different ethnicities. We have noticed users are drawn to photographs that accurately represent real-world settings. This is is also prevalent in our second area of demand. Photos of people in their authentic environment have proved popular and are download frequently.
Photographs that represent diversity
At Freepik we aim to celebrate and represent diversity and we want this to come across in our photo collection. We have users from over 230 different countries. When regarding photos of people, whether the focus is on individuals or groups, we would like to see more people of different ethnicities. This is to reflect that there are people from all different backgrounds and that the world we live in is multicultural. There has been a real request for this from users.
Furthermore, we would like to see diversity reflected in the photos of babies and children. We would like our photo to encompass children of all different backgrounds and cultures as we seek to have as many resources for our users as possible. There is a vast range of communities out there and they deserve to be represented equally and in all their glory.
Photographs that represent authenticity
People in their natural environments have proved popular with users, there is something about their authenticity that is appealing. This is exemplified in photos displaying people in the workplace. The most compelling photos are those that display people in real life work locations as opposed to using sets. For instance photos of a florist in an actual flower shop or a baker working in a bakery are both natural and authentic. Furthermore, people in general everyday settings are also sought after. This can be applied to individual people or groups such as friends enjoying each others company or workmates conversing together.
