Tell us a little bit about yourself. Where do you live? What do you do in your spare time?
I live in Cali, Colombia, with my wife Johanna and my children Jerónimo and Mateo. We like to do things together in our free time, such as going to the movies, traveling, visiting new places and enjoying life with our family and friends.

When did you first start designing? Were you always passionate about designing?
My wife and I took up photography many years ago, I always loved it. Later on, I got interested in design. Let’s just say I’m passionate about creating things and when you see that you can actually sell your creations and make a living out of it, you get even more enthusiastic. This is how we began to look for ways to make things better every day, like offering more top-quality designs to our clients.
How did you become interested in design? When did you start working in the industry?
I always loved photography, so that led me to design. We began to sell our photos and designs on the Internet more than 10 years ago. Since then, we’ve never stopped expanding, diversifying and consolidating our portfolio.

Where did you find the inspiration for your Freepik designs?
Everywhere. This industry has seen a lot of changes over the years, and being competitive has become essential. We think there’s a balance between classic or traditional designs and the upcoming trends. You have to keep an eye out for celebrations around the world, new concepts, new design techniques, new tendencies, colors and structures. You have to be constantly innovating. I often think about ways of helping our clients so that we can make their work, as well as their lives, easier.
Tell us about your portfolio: How many vectors have you designed throughout your career? What style are you most comfortable working in? Where do you find the inspiration for your work?
We have an extensive portfolio with more than 500,000 vectors suitable for different kinds of needs and agencies. We design whatever we think will be useful for our customers in a wide range of styles: flat, infographic, templates, polygonal, isometric, grouped, isolated and hand-drawn.
What advice or tips would you give to anyone starting out as a graphic designer?
Enjoy it.
What made you decide to work with Microstock platforms?
We began with photography. We uploaded our first photos just to test the waters, and the day we sold our first ones more than 10 years ago we were so surprised and happy. We saw an opportunity back then and took it. And here we are, 10 years later, still learning every day and trying to offer quality and variety to our customers.
And what advice would you give to people who are thinking about getting involved with Microstock platforms?

What made you take the step to join Freepik?
This industry never stops changing, so we have to be constantly active and competitive. Evolving and reinventing ourselves within the industry is very important.
