Freepik Company acquires Iconfinder
We are constantly changing. Studying the next step and looking for new ways to expand our universe. You already know about the recent acquisition of Videvo, which laid the foundations for the company’s growth. And today, we are very pleased to inform you about something that will consolidate the global icon market: Freepik Company has now acquired Iconfinder.
This will take Flaticon to the next level since, as you all know, Iconfinder is one of the largest icon databases in the world and has also expanded to other verticals such as illustrations or 3D illustrations, they’ve achieved impressive results. A place that serves 6.5 millions graphic resources to designers. That is why Iconfinder have held the position of Flaticon’s main competitor for years.
So now that both Flaticon and Iconfinder have become one, they will join forces to achieve one main goal: creating the world’s best icon site for both contributors and customers.
Martin LeBlanc, CEO and founder of Iconfinder, will be leading the icons team. “I am confident that by joining Freepik and combining Iconfinder and Flaticon teams, ideas, and resources, we have the potential to make an impact and build the best platform for people working with icons and other graphic resources.” Martin said.
We are thrilled to announce that you have become an essential part of what will be the biggest icon site in the world.
Although in the longer term they will both make a single platform, Flaticon and Iconfinder will coexist for now. So if you already are a contributor of one of the platforms you should know everything will stay the same for the moment. In case you are a contributor in both platforms you will not have to worry about a thing.
We are already working on the next steps in which all this new world-class talent will lead us all to stellar growth and will keep you updated with all the information about the process.
